Workers of Mexico:
The first not-for-profit CC company ever. (As far as I know)

All money will go to raises if we should have a surplus, and we will make whatever Mexico City has a shortage of, and our primary focus is the Mexican economy so if we have any remaining money even after it will go directly to buying productivity items.

There is currently a shortage of Happiness items, so we are producing Video Games and candy.

My best one was the communist/socialist party,
Then I made a capitalist workers party,
And it went downhill from there.

just fyi -- instead of posting several posts one right after each other ((in the same thread, called double-posting and which is against forum rules/etiquette), you can use EDIT button on your post to add something you meant to say but left out.

All money will go to raises if we should have a surplus,

PS. this is basically what I do now, and I don't think I'm the only one.

Hence why I pay myself $10, because often the workers in Productivity Ups Pay! actually lose the company a small amount of money, so I'm making up for it. Why are the funds of the company continuously going up? Valid question. I don't literally pay "all money" to raises, but I pay as much as I can. The funds the company has gathered are what I now look at as a rainy day fund.

When I cut everyone's wages before, that was after the company had lost almost $200. (I think it might've been closer to $180).

Not that I'm some white knight, you could look at what I am doing as very utilitarian. If you wanted to be a cynic, you could say that I'm using the taxes in MC to fund myself and my "police force" of cronies, in order to stay in power as Mayor (in this view, Brendan, you'd actually be one of my cronies, :P), which I also use to subsidize my company so that I can afford to pay unsustainable wages.

From a purely monetary view, this is literally what I'm doing. However, I prefer to see it as a method of maintaining fertile ground for new MC citizens, and a trusted police force that is able to guard the (first and only?) CC Constitution, so that MC can enjoy the (arguably) most democratic government in CC. I consider this a valid argument, because in my memory, there have been at least two Mayors who have taken their power and used it to try and level MC in a way that only the Mayor and the Mayor's true cronies were on top, with max (30%) taxes, and high Mayor/Manager/Police salaries, and/or ridiculous ... whatchamacallems... by laws? Those things that the mayor can enact, such as smoking bans (apologies to The Jackal and to Drake Anderson).

In order to support this view of what I'm doing, please take note that I have a habit of encouraging my political opponents (such as yourself, at least when you ran against me for the position as Mayor), within reason.

Keep up the efforts though! I suggest you target new citizens, and try and convert them to your cause. Eventually you'll find an active one, or one that might stay active, and then CC will grow, because your contact with them prevented them from completely abandoning CC. Perhaps you can try to brainwash them into believe that I'm a evil and a big fan of crony capitalism, and that this must be stopped. And/or that if you get elected mayor you'll get them more money with jobs as police. And/or that I tax too much/little. And/or something else? That'd be interesting. PS. It helps if you offer them tips as to how to get better at the game, and/or taking pay cuts for yourself from your company (after you save up enough money to do it right).

Whatever you do, though, please try to follow the Constitution. Let's see if we can establish an actually functional government, instead of the tribal warfare that seems to characterize the rest of CC.

Oh! One last thing. You might actually find that you can make more money selling strength and/or health items, if you do it by yourself or a small number of people. I was able to pay people a lot more when I was selling them, but now my company makes up too large a portion of the MC economy, and we need the food which we're making. I tried making happiness for awhile, but I couldn't figure out how to do it without cutting people's wages further. The way I've been running the company recently, is to make the company sell food that everyone else makes, and then briefly before I work, I change it to electronic books (which I make at 100%, and which give the company a higher profit margin).

Hi, guys! Just joined this company (I think it's this company, but the name's different), we'll see how it works out. In the mean time, I'll try my best to make good products for Mexico City! Although the tough ordinances on health (my stats dropped to 86% health...?) is making it hard to keep my productivity at 100%...

No, that isn't this company.
I made this one a while ago when Tehol was still around and we could take risks, like that, it failed since I didn't understand the Mexican Economy.

As for the stats, we're having some government budget troubles...
When we hit 50$ in the treasury, i'm going to have to make some serious reforms, change the budget, and try to get us to at least an 100$ profit. The Casino is a major drain of health, as is the red light district.

As I recall, Tehol had his productivity at 100% for a long time, so it's possible...

I really need a minister of the economy...

Uh... you know that's from August, right?

EDIT: How many people in the city actually gamble? If it's just 2 or 3, then there's no point draining the stats of everyone else for those people, and should be turned off.
