As for political parties, meh... It took me nearly a year to actually join a real one and it didn't do me any harm. Actually, the real harm comes when you do join one, then all of a sudden you have enemies. Be like Akiha. Float around free & independent. Grow strong, then smite those who annoy or offend you. You don't need to change avatars every 12 minutes though...

Be aware that if you pick my path, you need a decent amount of political acumen to cultivate good relationships with people. Because if you manage to anger anyone who can bring backup then you are pretty much screwed. To see examples of what NOT to do...see topics involving Murph - most hated guy in the community.
