Welcome to Cyber Citizens. You may or may not know who I am, which is fine by me... eventually you will. As I write this though, I am the number 2 overall citizen. My name is Keochti and I’ve been a citizen of this game since it’s first conception in the now defunct CC1 where I was President, Mayor, and the longest serving #1 citizen. Enough ego stroking. There is a reason I write this today. You. As a new citizen you’re likely to have all sorts of questions and concerns. I’m here to answer them, and others you haven’t had a chance to think of. Consider me your guardian angel in all things CC. For now, I promise not to lead you to evil. For now. So You’ve Decided To Play CyberCitizens Player creation is the first thing you’ll come across when starting to play. Basically, to create an account all you need is to be 13 and older with a valid e-mail account and you’re on your way. Follow the tutorial provided and you’re good to go. Remember, you’re only allowed one citizen at a time... creating more than one for the purpose of fast tracking your citizen only results in a ban. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. You can become the best without cheating. Careful building and patience. Yes, some of us have a head start, but don’t worry... we’re too busy beating on you to notice your slow climb to the top 10. Choosing Your City CyberCitizens is a world of choice, and choosing your city will determine your future and how you play. Good thing you have 10 choices in which to place your arse. Don’t worry though, if you change your mind you can always hop on the first flight to greener pastures. Below you’ll find a list of all 10 cities and a brief history on each. Keep in mind that this is ever changing, so don’t be shocked if a world super power lands in your city overnight and proceeds to beat the snot out of everyone. New York City Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004722/ ![]() The biggest and most popular city, though full of crime and those unable to protect themselves the members of Inmates of America have chosen this as their home. Mayor Chacho has worked himself up from a life of crime to become Mayor of the Big Apple. He has implemented many projects in an effort to make NYC a better place to live, though the city itself continues to scream bloody murder as crime continues to spread. London Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004721/ ![]() Current war zone and high taxes best describes London. The good news for you is that by the time I write this Albion will have disbanded and by the end of the month citizens will welcome in a new Mayor with very deep pockets in thanks to Squinj’s 60% taxes. The good news is, crime here is low against new players and that continues to be a trend when the new Mayor comes into power. A safe haven, but be wary of who is in charge... taxes may still be high. Sydney Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004729/ ![]() Crime. Villains. More crime. Good news is, you’re probably out of their range and their probably on the move. The Bad news? Some sucker is bound to inherit Sydney and lord knows where it’ll go from there. Low taxes, and high end crime make this a safe place to start your citizen... sadly, one of the most expensive places to fly from or too. So be careful and plan on being active if you think you’re the oine to save Sydney. Mumbai Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004727/ ![]() Random has held a Dictatorship from day 1 in the lovely land of Mumbai. Extremely low crime and opportunity galore to make your money and grow your stats... sadly, a low population keeps Mumbai from being a world super power. A great starting place for new citizens. Dallas Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004724/ ![]() Inactive Mayors have made Dallas a barren wasteland. Lord knows the trouble I could get in admitting that but I felt for every new citizen joining that this city holds the most promise. Most of you don’t come here alone, you know others in the game or others just joining... Dallas could be the home for you. Numbers equals votes, votes equal power... inactivity could be in Dallas’ past if you have the cajones to jump on board and make it your home. Los Angeles Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004723/ ![]() Currently in a state of Anarchy after the Mayor decided to take a little trip. Melutar, named city manager in his absence rose taxes, arrested the other city officials and then changed the cities Nationality thereby screwing everyone’s productivity. They are rebuilding, but it will take some time. A good starting place as it’s close enough to the major hubs to be useful once you get on your feet. Mexico Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004730/ ![]() Desolate stink hole ran into the ground by yours truly and later ignored by Elwood. Soon to be under the control of the lovely Laylow Mexico’s luck could soon change. Crime currently runs unchecked, but with a total population of less than 40 you’re bound to be safe... just don’t drink the water. Tokyo Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004728/ ![]() The city of Peace. Anti-crime laws and cops more than willing to enforce them. Not very loud on the forums, but a growth spurt could make this an excellent choice for a new player to get their footing. Paris Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004725/ ![]() Home of the number crunchers and zero crime. When Asriel was Mayor, he brought everyone from the city onboard in an effort to crunch numbers and formulate the best course of action with City Ordinances to make life better for all the citizens involved. Saltpeter has continued that tradition and he continues to make Paris a fair and neutral city. Rome Forums- http://forums.cybercitizens.com/forum/3004726/ ![]() Currently run by an inactive Mayor... or at least one who shows up on IRC to spam useless lines of idiocy... Rome has fallen into a spiral. Imperium is looking to change that come the next election term, but until then a fairly safe city looking to grow. Decent starting place. Character Development First off, I strongly suggest doing the Tutorial (http://www.cybercitizens.com/tutorial.asp?Page=1). It’ll give you a great walk through and an idea on how to play the game and where to find things. I’m not here to hold your hand through everything, so read it and understand it. I’m happy to answer all and any questions involving it... I will not however answer questions regarding giving you money or items. My goal is to show you the potential of what you want your citizen to be. Basically, right now there are two options... productive law abiding working or hardnosed criminal. Eventually you can be both, but for now I would strongly suggest focusing on one and not the other as doing both at once makes you a nice juicy target. Productivity Build- Basically, your goal is to focus on Happiness and Nourishment. Keeping both high will allow you to make more money at your job and create better items for yourself as time goes on. Happiness is hard to build up due to strength and health being the two common stats people focus on. The productivity build is actually a good way to protect yourself. You see, while happiness contributes to your overall rating it doesn’t raise your attack range. This means that once you get your happiness to a high enough level you can still equip weapons and armor thereby protecting yourself against lower level citizens and helping you when you go to raise the other stats. Once you hit 100% Happiness, I suggest Health as it’ll allow you to boost your productivity to its max potential. You do NOT need to buy items with this build, you will however want to buy a house for the boost in productivity and defence. Anyone will do and you can go for a Large Mansion later when you finally decide on the city in which you wish to remain long term. Criminal/Fighter Build- So you want to kick some arse. Good for you. First things first, do NOT buy any items. Losing a fight allows the winner a chance to steal any items besides Travel, Weapons and Armor from the loser. Second, target people with items... selling them brings in extra money for you to boost your stats. Speaking of which, strength and health are your bread and butter... do not build up one at once. Focus on building up both slowly. Nutrition is also your friend as it tends to affect your fighting chances... while weapons and armor are fun, unless you can buy max... they’re useless as you’ll find yourself outgrowing them quickly and only getting 50% back for them. Items- Not so much a build rather than an important note... as of right now Items only provide a temporary boost. Good for the short term but it makes you a walking target and when you get close to 100% selling them for half of what you paid for isn’t normally worth it. In time I’m sure this aspect of the game will change and improve shortly, until then avoid items at all costs. Everyone has their own way of building their citizen, you’ll find yours as time goes on. There’s no actual right or wrong way... mine just allows you to maximize your potential until you want to try something new. Roleplaying Some of you are simply here to win at the Internetz. Thumbs up to you, that’s originally why I joined... but then I realized the potential for role-play in this little world of ours. The forums allow you to explore all aspects of your citizen and also allow you to catch up on modern events. I strongly suggest you come to the forums at least once a day... while the game play of CC may keep you away for hours at end, it only takes 1 second for an invasion to fly to another city and start attacking. Since they can attack once every 6 hours, imagine if you took 13 hours off... boom baby, boom. The forums allow you to get a “feel” for what may or may not happen. Role playing stories can also paint a bigger picture for you as many people enjoy giving their citizens a personality. Many citizens often use commonalities to make friends and create stronger Parties. After all, what’s more effective a group of people following one person whose only goal is to be #1 or a group of like-minded people who enjoy the thrill of gaming as a community? In the end, I strongly suggest making the forums apart of your daily path in CC. Whether you partake in the stories or not, nothing will keep you better informed. Questions I am available at all times to answer any questions. I will also be updating this post from time to time in an effort to keep everyone up to date and informed of any changes that may occur. I want this FAQ to be a useful tool for new players, so if anyone has anything they wish to be added to this please feel free to do so. Questions can be asked here or via PM... all additions will be added to this original post even if they get repeated later on. Having everything in one place will be more effective long term in helping new players understand the game. Thanks I’d like to thank Kevin for making this game possible and bringing back a fan favourite. I’ve enjoyed running amok in your world. Xgon for starting the map thread... if only he’d update it every once and awhile... and to those who contributed to it, I thank you as well for your hard work. To all those I pillaged, molested and beat along the way... thank you for being a punching bag and a step stool for my citizens growth. To all those I RP with on a daily basis... without you there would be no me... you complete me... now where’s my goat? Edited by Keochti, Mar 10 2010, 06:04 PM.

Well done. Informative, but also entertaining, which will help keep a no0bs interest long enough to read through it. |
