Jail Fees

Alright I have a question about Jail Fees. I thought I knew how they worked and now I'm thinking I might be confused.

When a citizen is in jail they can either choose to hang out for the time set by the mayor or they can pay the fee. If they pay the fee, that money goes to the city's stash of money right?

Thanks!

And for each arrest, each penalty stacks? So a $1 jail fee and a 1 hour incarceration time, after ten offenses, will turn into a $10 fee or a 10 hour incarceration?

That's also correct.

Is there an upper cap on jail-time, or would it be possible for a repeat offender to wind up with a sentence that lasts weeks at a time?

I have always heard that there was a cap (I believe admin said so somewhere) however I don't know what it is.

Someone once told me seventy-two hours, but then someone else reported having to serve a little over a hundred hours, so I am not entirely sure.

It's always seen, when you fail they can place a warrant if you succeed they can do nothing.

As far as I know, the cap is at 5 days time serving time. I'm not sure on a cap for the fees though.
