Interesting. Any way you could also do the average wage by city and/or get some average prices in there as well?

Yup, more in the works. I dont want to say which ones i'll be doing next, to avoid anyone manipulating data just for the census. They could be on citizen activities or activity level or political statistics or partisanship in business, high, low, average wages, disparity in wages within companies...who knows.

They will come out as the staff has time to research and publish them.

Want a job? right now the 'staff' is just me.

Actually, announcing which statistics you'll be looking at shouldn't make too much of a difference. There are over 2,000 people in the game, and if you do the same stats on a regular basis, it's unlikely to make any significant amount of difference.

I'd rather not do the data collection, but I'd be more than happy to help with the analysis.

If i were to tell you "Tomorrow i'm going to come by to see if you have any old food in your refrigerator.... what would you most likely do?

Agreed, if i took the census statistics multiple times, over time, it would even out. But considering all the legwork it takes to put the statistics together, and there are so many more numbers to compare, the amount of work you are suggestiing to reduce artificial variance is prohibitive.

I am glad to see another source of information coming forward. I look forward to seeing more numbers that you will be crunching Black Kettle, as well as what this might do to the newspaper market. (Do I foresee competition for these numbers between papers? :joke: )

For the "above minimum wage" statistic, is that for companies who pay the majority of their workers above minimum wage?

Not necessarily. At the time of this publication, it was unknown how many of the company employees were making above minimum wage, only that the company did offer a wage higher than minimum.

More data is being collected to ascertain the specifics, and that report will come out as soon as it is available.

if the data can be put into a google spreadsheet http://docs.google.com it would help to prepare analysis and some graphic figures :headphones:

your statistics will be assimilated... and averaged... and plotted over a period of time to indicate trends... resistance is futile!
